A small design team developed the poly-coaster design creating a multipurpose coaster concept and various working prototypes. The product allowed individual drinks coasters to be combined to create a larger protective surface for pots and pans. The design’s primary objective was to provide the consumer with a simple and modular system which could be commercialised easily.
